Everest & Jennings is one of the most recognized names in both powered and manual wheelchairs. In fact, this company invented the folding wheelchair and today this manufacturer offers a complete product line of wheelchairs and accessories. The Everest & Jennings Advantage is a reclining wheelchair with a higher back and full support, removable neck support. This can be adjusted to suit your specific needs.
This chair is a great option for those who have a heavier body weight. The model is available in a variety of seat widths, with those up to 20 inch supporting up to 300 pounds, while the 22 inch seat width can support up to 450 pounds.
What are our favorite features?
- What we liked most about this wheelchair is the flexibility and adjustability. The chair fully reclines from a 90 degree upright angle to an almost flat (170 degree) angle. You can also remove and adjust the headrest to ensure that your head and neck is cradled for ultimate support. You can also ensure that your feet remain safely off the ground with the elevating legrests that can also be adjusted or removed without needing any tools.
What could be better?
- What could use work is the armrests. There are some complaints about the armrests feeling a little flimsy and coming off the chair, which is obviously a potential area of concern. However, this may be due to the wheelchair being a little on the wide side. If you have non standard doors that are a little narrow, there is a risk that you could bang the armrests and eventually, this will lead to damage.
