The current Aotedor 213 is a much more compelling “Best Travel Speed” choice than the other Electric Wheelchairs in this line-up. It combines a claimed maximum speed of 5.8 mph with up to 30 miles of range from two 12Ah lithium batteries—impressive specifications for a chair weighing less than 40 pounds.
That combination matters because high speed alone is not particularly useful if the battery is exhausted after a few miles. The Aotedor instead combines its higher speed with genuine long-range capability.
Aotedor currently specifies a 39-pound weight, 220-pound capacity, 17-inch seat, up to 30 miles of range, 5.8 mph maximum speed and 32-inch turning radius. The manufacturer’s current product collection also lists the 213 as one of its main carbon-fiber models. A corresponding current Amazon listing advertises the 30-mile dual-battery configuration.
Why are we impressed?
- The combination of sub-40-pound weight, long range and a nearly 6 mph maximum speed is unusual. This is a particularly attractive option for active users who want a chair that is both transportable and capable of covering meaningful distances.
What negatives must you be aware of?
- Its 220-pound capacity and 17-inch seat are restrictive compared with larger chairs. Range figures also depend heavily on user weight, terrain, speed and battery configuration, so buyers should not assume they will achieve the full 30 miles in everyday use.
